Dr. Grill obtained his M.D. and Family Medicine training from the University of Toronto (UofT) and completed his Master of Public Health degree at Harvard University. He holds an academic rank of Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University. Dr. Grill is the Chief and Medical Director of the Department of Family Medicine at Oak Valley Health and the Lead Physician at the Markham Family Health Team where he enjoys an active community-based clinical practice. In August 2023, Dr. Grill was selected as the inaugural Assistant Dean of the Queen’s-Lakeridge Health campus in Durham Region and provides administrative, operational, and educational leadership for medical students, residents and other interprofessional healthcare learners. Dr. Grill is also a recipient of the Canadian Certified Physician Executive (CCPE) credential from the Canadian Medical Association and Canadian Society of Physician Leaders recognizing competency and excellence in physician leadership.

Dr. Daniel Garcia is a Family Physician and Assistant Professor with NOSM University, with experience spanning rural and urban primary care, medical education, digital health, and health-system leadership. Originally from Toronto, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University, where he also pursued graduate research in Motor Control and Learning supported by NSERC. He earned his medical degree from University College Cork in Ireland and completed his Rural Family Medicine residency at the University of Saskatchewan, receiving the Alanna Danilkewich Resident Award for academic achievement. Dr. Garcia previously served as Lead Physician for the Near North Family Health Organization and currently serves as Physician Lead for the Primary Care Network within the Nipissing Wellness Ontario Health Team. He is also a member of the Executive Committee for the North Bay Physician Local Education Group and supervises medical students and Family Medicine residents through his community practice. His interests include transforming primary care delivery through team-based care models, physician wellness, and the integration of AI and digital health solutions into clinical workflows. He also serves as a clinical advisor for emerging healthcare AI initiatives, with a focus on practical and scalable innovation in frontline care.

Dr. Jennifer Bondy’s clinical roles and experience include over a decade in family medicine as well as a dedication to providing medical services to people experiencing homelessness. Currently, Dr. Bondy is the medical director for Windsor Shelter Health, and practices at several shelters and drop-in centres for people experiencing homelessness in Windsor, Ontario. Aside from clinical practice, Dr. Bondy dedicates time to teaching and research through her roles as an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at University of Windsor and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Western. At Schulich Medicine, she is a member of the Academy of Educators, and the Course Lead for the Integrated Small Group Learning course, as well as the Academic Director of Undergraduate Family Medicine for the Windsor Campus. Aside from her work with Amplify Care, Dr. Bondy lends her time and expertise as a board member with the Ontario College of Family Physicians, and as a member of the Board of Health of the Windsor Essex County Health Unit. In 2025, she received a King Charles III Coronation Medal, and was named the Family Medicine Faculty of the Year at the Schulich Windsor Campus Awards of Excellence in 2023.

Julia Hutton, MScN, PHCNP, is a dedicated Primary Healthcare Nurse Practitioner with the Centre for Family Medicine Family Health Team. With a Master of Science in Nursing and over 15 years of clinical experience, Julia delivers comprehensive care with a focus on women’s health, chronic disease management, and preventive medicine. Julia began her career in emergency medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital and later broadened her experience as a nurse in Australia. Since becoming a Nurse Practitioner, she has served in diverse primary care settings, including the Guelph and Upper Grand Family Health Teams, where she developed deep expertise in interdisciplinary collaboration and patient-centred care. Alongside her clinical work, Julia has a strong interest in digital health innovation. She brings her frontline experience to her role at Amplify Care, supporting the implementation of virtual visits, telehealth solutions, and quality improvement initiatives.

Dr. Kevin Lai is a Family Physician providing comprehensive care in Toronto, and is the founder and medical director of Get Well Clinic. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, Department of Family and Community Medicine. He is also the digital co-lead on the Primary Care Network of the North York Toronto Health Partners. He has an interest in information technology and the development of open source solutions for innovative primary care clinic applications.

Dr. Kevin Samson is a family physician. He is also an Electrical Engineer specializing in computer programming and biomedical engineering and has been actively involved in the development and application of digital health solutions throughout his career. In this regard, he has had active roles with a number of provincial and national organizations including the Association of Family Health Teams of Ontario (AFHTO), OntarioMD, Diabetes Action Canada, Amplify Care (formerly the eHealth Centre of Excellence), the Centre for Effective Practice, Ontario Health, the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), and Khure Health. He is the Clinical Lead for Digital Health and Privacy and Security for the Guelph Wellington Ontario Health Team, and Chair of the OntarioMD TELUS Practice Solutions Community of Practice. ​ Dr. Samson received the 2019 inaugural Canada Health Informatics Clinical Innovator award which recognizes a clinical innovator who has shown outstanding leadership in Canada in advancing the use of Digital Health or Virtual Health in clinical practice resulting in improved clinician and patient experiences and outcomes.

With over 25 years of health care experience, Kindra’s primary focus has been on patient care with community partners and the primary health care setting. This includes work experience within Long Term Care homes, Kids-Ability, KW Habilitation Services, Home Care Services, and a Medical Office. For the past 10 years, she has worked for SRS Medical and has made her way from being a Medical Office Assistant to their Clinic Office Manager. At SRS Medical, a Family Medicine Practice, where she focuses on communication and providing the best quality of care to their patients. Over the years at SRS Medical, she have been a consultant for Amplify Care on several different projects to increase the value of services to patients, including e-referral services, tablet pilot projects, virtual care and more, this led her to a part-time position as a Change Management Specialist with Amplify Care to assist in launching Online Booking within our region.

Dr. Neil Naik, a GTA native, studied medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, completing his residency in Newfoundland and Nunavut. He further specialized in Health Informatics and Leadership at OntarioMD and earned an Executive MBA from Ivey, focusing on innovative, technology-forward public healthcare. He practices family medicine in Waterloo, Ontario, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at McMaster and the University of Waterloo. Dr. Naik advises Amplify care, multiple startups, and various boards including regional renal and endoscopy, and the Clinical Council for the Centre of Bioengineering and Biotechnology (University of Waterloo). He advocates for universal healthcare, viewing AI as key to accessible care for all.

Dr. Rajesh Girdhari is the Digital Health Lead, a role that will work with Ontario Health-Toronto Region to support the rollout of primary care IT initiatives to serve our patients, communities, and the primary care professionals of the region as well as DFCM faculty and learners. Dr. Girdhari is an Assistant Professor at DFCM who provides primary care and addiction medicine services to people in the Regent Park community as a family physician on the St. Michael’s Hospital Academic Family Health Team at Sumac Creek Health Centre. He has been a lead for both IT and quality improvement at St. Michael’s Hospital DFCM since 2015. Prior to these roles, he worked as a partner and clinical lead at a health IT start-up company in Toronto.

Dr. Ryeyan Taseen, is a respirologist and clinician informatics leader based in Southwestern Ontario. He is a staff physician at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, where he provides inpatient consultative care and maintains a nearby outpatient respirology practice. He serves as the hospital’s Health Information System (HIS) Medical Lead, providing physician leadership for the hospital’s implementation of a regional HIS. In addition to his role as a Clinical Advisor at Amplify Care, he consults for Ontario Health’s Standardized eReferral Forms initiative. Dr. Taseen completed his medical training at l’Université de Sherbrooke in Quebec, and earned a Master’s degree in Computer Science through the clinician-scientist program. His work brings together frontline clinical care, health informatics, and health system implementation, with particular interests in clinical decision support, clinician-informed digital workflow design and implementation, and health information interoperability and standardization.

Dr. Scott Laing is a family physician based in Waterloo, Ontario. He has worked closely with the Amplify care team on numerous initiatives including Standardized Referral Forms, eReferral implementation, bots, Shield cybersecurity training, and Electronic Medical Record tools including Evidence to Practice. He is an adjunct faculty member with McMaster University and has published studies on Referral Forms, Health Service Delivery, EMR Clinical Decision Support. He has a strong passion for improving health service delivery, including clinician and patient experiences. He also creates his own tools and workflows that are used within his daily clinical practice.

Dr. Upender Mehan is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and completed his family medicine residency at Queen’s University. He has been in practice for over 35 years and currently works at the Centre for Family Medicine Family Health Team and satellite site for McMaster University’s Family Medicine residency program. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor with McMaster University and Adjunct Clinical Professor at Western University, in their departments of family medicine. He is passionate about teaching and has won several teaching awards and an Award of Excellence from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. He has a strong interest in Continuing Medical Education and his interests include Osteoporosis, Diabetes, Chronic Kidney Disease, Obesity, and Mental Health disorders including Insomnia. He is a champion for the implementation of digital health tools to allow primary care to deliver evidence-based care with greater ease.

Dr. Winnie Lee is a physician leader, radiologist, and educator who is known for her clinical excellence, transformative leadership, and a deep commitment to patient-centered care. She currently serves as Chief of Staff and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging at Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH), where she has held progressive leadership roles and guided the hospital through major initiatives including digital health integrations, system-wide quality improvements, and the COVID-19 pandemic response. Dr. Lee actively participates in health system planning initiatives, providing insights on healthcare delivery at provincial, national and international levels. She serves on several high-impact committees, including those at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Ontario Hospital Association, and the Beryl Institute.
