Triaging eReferrals as an eConsult (TreC) is a workflow that allows specialists to respond to referrals with advice, through an eConsult, if they deem appropriate, often eliminating the need for an in-person appointment.

eReferral via eFax

eFax recipients are not active Ocean participants, referrals sent to them through Ocean arrive as a fax therefore the sending site must update the referral information in Ocean.   

Customizing priority and protocol columns to support referral triage

The questions presented in the ‘Review’ panel during the eReferral / eConsult review process are customizable.

eReferral to eConsult

The eReferral to eConsult workflow allows clinicians with Ocean sites, who are set up to use eConsult, to respond to incoming eReferrals with an eConsult, if appropriate.

OTN – eConsult

Clinicians respond to an eConsult from the OTN.
