Integration with Ocean eReferral enhances Cerebrum users’ workflow in Waterloo-Wellington
Users at K-W CardioPulmonary Services (CPS) have gained many efficiencies in their referral processing since the integration of Ocean eReferral and Cerebrum, their EMR.
Quick Facts
The bi-directional integration between Cerebrum and Ocean eReferral went live in April 2022 and since then has allowed for users at a large regional cardiology centre to experience great benefits in their workflow.
CPS is one of the largest cardiology receivers in the region and processes large volumes of referrals daily, so the time saving features of the integration has a large impact
Time saving features include:
- Booking patients directly from the triage list
- No more downloading of requisitions,
- No longer have to send booking confirmation separately
- Requesting additional information is easy and fast through Ocean and additional reports also attached in patients file directly
There is also more accuracy and less chance of errors as there is less manual transcription of referrals
I am satisfied with the integration between Cerebrum/Ocean. The time has been cut in half from the time we receive the referral and booking patient in. Normally it would take 2 or 3 minutes to do so, now it’s even faster, since we don’t need to create a profile for the patient, and we don’t have to download the requisition… I am very happy with the transition, and I adapted well to the change.
